Jpcsp Release History & Archived Project News

This is an independent historical summary of Jpcsp project updates. It is not an announcement feed from the development team, and the old dates below must not be read as new releases from this website.

Version milestones in the developer documentation

The project’s maintained README and changelog records the following named releases. These brief summaries select a few changes; they are not complete release notes.

  • 9 March 2010 — v0.5: work on graphics, interrupts and saved-data handling, alongside additional interface languages.
  • 18 September 2010 — v0.6: changes to compilation, module loading and rendering, plus media playback and save/load improvements.
  • 28 June 2013 — v0.7: software rendering and gamepad support, changes to fonts and audio, and early networking support.

The old news page: 2012 SVN snapshots

The old news page captured on 15 January 2013 preserves these announcements. Dates below belong to the original posts, not this reconstruction:

  • 2 September 2012 — revision 2718. The update discussed MPEG, graphics-engine, file-system and compatibility work. A separate post that day announced a new compatibility website.
  • 27 September 2012 — revision 2736. The post covered media, graphics and module support.
  • 15 October 2012 — revision 2774. The post described media, graphics and compiler changes.
  • 8 November 2012 — revision 2838. The post described module and compatibility fixes.
  • 13 December 2012 — revision 2927. The post described fixes and performance improvements.

Those announcements linked to file hosts and services used at the time. We do not present those historical links as verified current downloads. The archived page remains available for readers who need to examine the original context.

A version number and a revision number answer different questions

A label such as v0.6 identifies a named release. A revision such as r2927 identifies a point in the old SVN history. A later build may instead include a Git commit identifier in its filename. Preserve the entire identifier when comparing reports; matching only “Jpcsp” or a broad version name can hide meaningful differences.

For a package you can locate now, use the Jpcsp builds and setup guide. For an old game report, use the recovered compatibility records and keep the original test revision attached to the result.

What has not been reconstructed

This page summarizes selected documented releases and one surviving news-page snapshot. It does not claim to reproduce every announcement, forum reply or revision changelog. In particular, an old fragment link to a v0.4 section is not proof that we have recovered that section; missing material remains missing until a reliable source is found.
